Quick Quiz - 3 Questions for Mommies....

Obviously this is a "Q" post for Jenny Matlock's Alphabet Thursday....

Jenny Matlock

I heard an interesting statistic on the radio yesterday, so it got me to thinking, it said:

"The average parent only has 93 minutes of free time per day. And that’s not 93 minutes in a row.  That’s 93 minutes grabbing a few free minutes here, a few free minutes there."

Really?

Are you serious?

Who are they kidding?  Who are they interviewing?

Are they counting the time I'm showering, getting ready, and going to the bathroom?

Even though I already have 2 daughters that have left the nest, and I only have Miss Morgi here on most days,

and the hubby,

and Daisy....

I can't comprehend 93 minutes of free time on any average day!!!  Can you?

So I thought I'd quiz all the mommies out there...

Are you ready?  This is a tough one....

1. Do you think you have 93 minutes of free time per day? Time just for you, to do whatever you wish?

2.  What do you "normally" spend your free time on each day?

3.  If you had 2 uninterrupted hours today to do whatever you wanted, What would you do?

  • Quality time with hubby?
  • Quick trip to the salon for mani/pedi?
  • Quiche with a girlfriend at La Madelaine?
  • Quiet time for reading, napping, etc.?

I can't wait to hear from everyone!!! Of course your answers don't have to start with "Q", I was just on a roll....LOL!

I would love some ideas for when the next "free time" opportunity arises!!!!

Contact me if you want me to capture your unique personality and have a fun, stress-free photo shoot in the Galveston-Houston area!

I have lots of free time since all my chicks have left the nest. BUT when they were little, my only free time was in the middle of the night! That's when I would paint. Not the best time for a mom who has to get the kids up, feed them, and get them off to pre-school, or kindergarden. I did it, though.

Well since I haven't been working and the boys are in school, I have more than that of free time. Now...should I have been doing more projects and stuff, YES! When I was working, there is no way I could have that much time but I did make choices to let the housework go in order to spend time with the family.

I like to do decorative makeovers with my time but sometimes I am just lazy and want to read!!

I would definitely spend 2 hours with Kenny because he IS too busy!!!

93 minutes of free time? They must be counting the time I spend painting the dining room.

I'd spend my time...parked on the sectional with the whole crew watching a bad movie.

With two free hours, I'd have time to make popcorn.

I am a mom, grandmother, wife, sister, and pre-k teacher who leaves for school at 7 and comes home between 5 and 6 each night, tonight I did not even walk into the house until 6:40 after stopping at the store. I do have some spare time though, it is late at night.....I just don't sleep much. I wish that I could be like Martha Stewart and only sleep 3 or 4 hours a night, at least that is what she says. I guess I will sleep when I am old. Thanks so much for the nice comments, you are a very talented photographer, I looked at your other site. I love to take photos and any suggestions that you might have, I am always open. I have a Nikon D90 and I like to use my 50 MM and my 18-200 lens, but some of these were taken with a fisheye.

Hi Gina....when I saw you had Posted for the Letter Q, I had to stop and say Hi. Gosh, since I'm retired, I'm busier than ever, but I find I do have more free time if you count all the things I love to do and consider the time spent a pleasure...like quilting, knitting, sewing, thrift shopping, taking care of my Grandson, coffee in the AM with HiHoney and Blogging! I'm still lovin' your music...makes me think I should put my playlist back on CollectInTexas Gal.

Awwww...what a sweet post! Loved the picture of your husband with Daisy. And your family is absolutely beautiful.

It's been awhile since my kids were small but I don't think I ever accumulated more than 9 minutes of my own each and every day.

Unless they're counting sleep time when you're not dreaming of laundry and meals and grocery shopping?

Thaks for a fun stop this week. I was happy to give up 93 minutes of my free time to visit you!

A+
